More powerful Menu and Activities calendars: save a month, start the next one from it, and print a cleaner page
More powerful Menu and Activities calendars: save a month, start the next one from it, and print a cleaner page
A monthly menu or activity calendar used to be generated, printed, and gone; next month started from zero. Calendars are now saved the moment you generate them. Reopen a month, change a meal or an activity, print it again, and start next month from the work you already did instead of rebuilding it.
Where to find it: Calendars → Calendar generators. Generate, preview, and print work exactly as before; the new tools sit below them and stay out of the way until you want them.
🆕 Saved calendars you can come back to
- Generate a month once and it is saved. Reopen it from the Saved calendars list, adjust any meal or activity, and print again. The month comes back exactly as you left it, blank cells included.
- Generating a month that already exists opens the saved version instead of replacing it, so a calendar your staff are already working from is never overwritten by accident.
🆕 Start next month from what worked
- Start from last month copies the previous month's saved calendar into the new one, lining Mondays up with Mondays and so on through the week.
- Copy from another saved month lets you pick any saved menu or activity calendar as the starting point, not just the most recent one.
- The month you copy from is left untouched, and the new month is its own calendar from that point on.
🆕 Faster editing
- Copy day and Copy week inside the editor repeat a good day or a good week onto another one, ready for fine-tuning.
- Pick from library fills a meal from your Meals library, and Add from library drops an activity from your Activities library into a day. Typing your own text still works everywhere, and choosing a library item never changes the library itself.
🆕 Reusable weekly templates
- Set up a week once, Monday through Sunday, and start any future month from it. Each weekday's meals or activities land on every matching weekday of the month, so "chair exercise on Tuesdays and Thursdays" is simply what you put in the Tuesday and Thursday cells.
- Build a template from an empty week, or save one from a week of a real calendar you already like.
- Templates are shared across your organization's facilities. Changing a template later affects months you create from then on; months you already saved stay exactly as they are.
🆕 A public calendar note
- Add one short note to a month, such as "Thanksgiving dinner served at noon" or an outing reminder. It prints under the calendar title on both the Menu and the Activities calendar and appears in Tour view.
- The note is meant for public-facing information. Please do not put resident-specific or confidential details in it.
🆕 Your own Menu print footer
- Set the substitution and snack wording your organization actually uses, and it prints at the bottom of every facility's Menu. Leave it blank and no footer prints.
✨ Print and Tour polish
- Staff view, Tour view, and the printed page now show the same saved month, so what you proofread on screen is what comes out of the printer.
- Cleaner print layouts for both calendars: Menu in portrait and Activities in landscape, each with your logo and facility name, and none of the editing controls on paper.
- The Tour version of a Menu still leaves out Tendera's resident allergy flags, as it did before.
📌 What a saved calendar contains
Saved calendars and templates hold only what you type or pick: meals, activities, and your note. Tendera never writes resident names or allergy details into them. The allergy flags on the staff Menu are worked out fresh each time the page is shown.

Employee files: a new guide on what Arizona expects in a personnel record, plus the first printable Tendera worksheet
Employee files: a new guide on what Arizona expects in a personnel record, plus the first printable Tendera worksheet
A caregiver starts Monday. The training certificate is in an email, the CPR card is on a phone, and someone remembers checking the background. Is the file ready? The eighth operator resource walks the assisted living licensing personnel record from the person's role through pre-service requirements, fingerprinting and APS checks, TB documentation, orientation and training, and how long records have to be kept and how fast they have to be produced.
Where to find it: Resources → Employee Files & Hiring Checklist, or read it here.
🆕 A printable Employee File Checklist
- Four pages, one worksheet per person: hiring and initial checks, what has to happen before services begin, ongoing and role-specific items, and a page to close the review.
- Every item has Done / Action / N/A boxes and a line for where the evidence actually lives, so a file review leaves a record instead of a memory.
- Each item names the rule or statute behind it, and the last page carries a follow-up log plus clickable links to the official sources.
- No email required. Download it, print it, use it for a new hire, a volunteer, or an existing file.
🆕 What the guide is careful about
- Requirements are cited to their rule or statute. Suggestions for organizing the work are labelled management practice and set apart visually, so an operating idea is never mistaken for a legal obligation.
- The two fingerprint application provisions are kept separate rather than merged into a general permission to work uncleared.
- APS Registry checks and fingerprint-card status are treated as the two different duties they are, including the annual APS reverification.
- Personnel records and the daily caregiver worked-hours record have different retention minimums, and the 72-hour record exception has specific conditions rather than covering every former employee.
✨ A correction to the TB guide
- The TB guide described annual symptom documentation mainly for people with untreated latent TB. The rule is wider: as part of the facility's annual exposure-risk assessment, signed documentation of freedom from symptoms of infectious TB is required for each individual who must be screened.
- Both provisions are now stated side by side, with the matching item added to the audit checklist. The existing point stands: this is not an instruction to repeat a routine test on an annual date.
📌 Educational, not an ADHS form
The guide and the worksheet help organize a review. They are not legal advice, not an ADHS form, and a completed checklist is not a guarantee of compliance. Both cite the primary sources so you can read the rule yourself.

The Resources library is easier to browse, and resident photos load faster
The Resources library is easier to browse, and resident photos load faster
Seven guides had grown into a wall of near-identical cards, all labelled "Arizona Operator Resources" and all carrying their full article titles. Finding the one you needed meant reading every card.
✨ Resources, reorganized
- The survey readiness guide now has a Start here panel at the top, with the sections it covers listed.
- Filter by topic: Resident Care, Staff & Training, or Facility Operations. Each button shows how many guides it holds, and guides that span two topics appear under both.
- Cards show a short title, a plain description, the publication date, and the reading time, newest first.
- Nothing moved. Every guide keeps the same web address, so saved links and anything you have shared still work.
✨ Resident photos load faster
- Photos are now resized when they are uploaded, so a picture taken on a modern phone no longer travels at full camera resolution every time a page shows it.
- Existing photos were converted too. Resident lists and charts feel quicker on a phone, and the images look the same.

Two pages for the questions operators keep asking: what happens to resident information, and what getting started actually involves
Two pages for the questions operators keep asking: what happens to resident information, and what getting started actually involves
Two questions come up in almost every conversation with an operator, and neither had a page to point at. Now they do.
🆕 Trust and security
- Plain answers to what a vendor reviewer, a family member, or your own insurer asks: where the data is hosted, what is encrypted, who inside your organization can see what, how sign-in is protected, and what the audit trail records.
- It also says what Tendera has not done: no SOC 2, HITRUST, or ISO 27001 audit, and no third-party penetration test. A page you can send someone without having to caveat it yourself.
- At tendera.care/trust, linked from the footer.
🆕 Getting started
- What actually happens between a demo and your caregivers opening Shift Hub: setting up the organization and homes, reviewing documents and medications, choosing paper or digital per workflow, and the first shift.
- Including what is not promised: no fixed number of days to go live, and no claim that the software passes a survey for you.
- At tendera.care/getting-started.
🆕 A short look at the medication workflows
- A 24-second silent clip on the product page showing Med Pass, a resident's daily medication chart, and the printable monthly MAR. Useful for showing a manager or a prospective caregiver what the screens look like.
- On the product page, in the medication section. It plays only when you press play.

Menu calendar: a second "Print for tours (no PHI)" button so you can hand the monthly menu to a prospect without leaking resident allergy info
Menu calendar: a second "Print for tours (no PHI)" button so you can hand the monthly menu to a prospect without leaking resident allergy info
A Tendera customer flagged that the monthly menu calendar includes per-resident allergy annotations. Great signal for kitchen staff (a meal with peanut oil gets flagged against the resident whose chart says "peanut allergy") but not something you want to hand to a prospect on a tour. Today's ship: a second Print button on the menu calendar that generates a tour-safe version with the allergy annotations stripped out. Nothing changes for the staff view.
Where to find it: Calendar generators → pick a month → the menu calendar page. The regular Print button is unchanged; a new Print for tours (no PHI) button next to it opens a matching tour-safe version in a new tab.
🆕 What the tour-safe version does
- Meal grid identical to the staff view: same breakfast / lunch / dinner rotation, same substitutions + snacks footer, same layout.
- No per-cell allergen callouts. No "⚠ Alice Smith: peanut" annotations. No colored borders on flagged cells.
- No aggregate "N residents have declared allergies" banner at the top.
- A blue ribbon on-screen (hidden when printing) confirms which version you're looking at, with a Back to staff view link so you never lose the full version.
🔒 Privacy at the data layer, not just visual
- The backend skips the resident-allergen fetch entirely when tour-safe mode is on. No resident data ever enters the page's template context.
- Nothing to accidentally reveal via view-source, browser dev tools, a screenshot with a stray element visible, or a copy-paste from the page.
- The staff view is untouched: kitchen still sees every allergen flag they always have.

Regulatory Intelligence: Tendera now watches official Arizona rulemaking sources, and AI drafts plain-English summaries that get human-reviewed before anything reaches your dashboard
Regulatory Intelligence: Tendera now watches official Arizona rulemaking sources, and AI drafts plain-English summaries that get human-reviewed before anything reaches your dashboard
Compliance-minded customers asked whether Tendera could keep an eye on Arizona rule changes for them. Today's ship: Tendera watches five official Arizona regulatory sources on a schedule, uses AI to draft plain-English summaries of anything that changes, and routes every draft through human review before it appears on your dashboard. The goal is that you find out about a rule change with an actionable "here's what to check" note instead of finding out from a surveyor six months later.
Where you'll see it: the Dashboard's Regulatory Updates strip. Today the strip shows manually- authored entries. Going forward, AI-drafted updates will start appearing there too, but only after Tendera staff has reviewed each summary for accuracy against the official source.
🆕 What Tendera watches now (five official Arizona sources)
- ADHS Director's Blog rulemaking tag. Early-warning notices about upcoming rule proposals, stakeholder meetings, and GRRC hearing steps.
- ADHS Residential Facilities Licensing page. Bulletins and provider communications from the licensing office (the same office that inspects your facility).
- ADHS Administrative Counsel Rules Index. The canonical dashboard of active rulemaking activity by chapter, including Chapter 10 which contains Article 8 (assisted living).
- ADHS-hosted Article 8 rule text PDF. The actual regulation content. When ADHS republishes this file, it typically means Article 8 has been amended.
- Arizona Legislature bill tracker. Automatically filters the ~500 bills each session down to the ones that touch assisted living, Title 36, AHCCCS, or long-term care. Today's ship baselined 34 relevant bills from the 2026 session already in progress.
🆕 How the AI reads a change
- Every detected change is sent to Claude (running on Amazon Bedrock) with strict grounding rules: no invented rule numbers, no invented effective dates, honest uncertainty flags when the source is ambiguous.
- The AI is prompted to frame recommendations as "Consider reviewing X" or "Check whether your Y policy addresses Z." Never "You must" or "You are required to" language, since that's a legal conclusion Tendera is not qualified to make.
- Each draft includes: a plain-English summary of what changed, a "What to check" checklist, cited rule numbers, the effective date if the source states one, and a link back to the official source.
🆕 Human review before publication
- AI-drafted summaries land in an internal review queue that Tendera staff sees, not customers.
- Every summary is reviewed for accuracy against the source before it's approved. Stale, unclear, or off-base drafts are rejected and never reach you.
- Approved summaries then flow to the Dashboard Regulatory Updates strip on your operators' Dashboard, along with per-user dismissal so the card doesn't nag after read.
🔒 Guardrails
- Zero customer publications without approval. No AI draft appears on your dashboard without an explicit Tendera-staff approval click. The pipeline is "AI drafts, human decides, customer sees."
- Every summary traces to a source. Each approved update carries a link back to the exact official page, PDF, or bill it was drafted from, plus the timestamp of when we fetched it.
- Only public regulatory content. Tendera reads publicly-published regulatory material only. No PHI or resident data is ever sent to any AI service as part of this feature.
- Only official Arizona domains are reachable. The fetcher is locked to a hardcoded allowlist of azdhs.gov and azleg.gov hosts. Extending it requires a code change that passes review.
- No engineering around access controls. Sources with anti-bot mechanisms (Secretary of State's Administrative Register weekly PDF, GRRC agendas) are handled through manual entry. Tendera does not build around the intended access model of a source.
- Bedrock is HIPAA-eligible under our AWS BAA. All AI processing happens inside AWS. No third-party AI service ever sees Tendera content.
✳️ Still to come
- A dedicated Regulatory Updates page with filters, historical view, and per-update deep-dive. Today the dashboard strip is the primary customer surface.
- Optional email or push notifications when a new update is published to your facility.
- Automatic scheduling. Right now the monitor runs on manual invocation while we observe a week or two of production behavior; scheduler wiring flips on once we're confident there are no false-positive storms.

Inbound Fax Intake: your fax provider forwards to Tendera, and each fax lands in an Inbox with one-click Preview, Assign, File to chart, and Send to Med Import
Inbound Fax Intake: your fax provider forwards to Tendera, and each fax lands in an Inbox with one-click Preview, Assign, File to chart, and Send to Med Import
Faxes are still how a lot of clinical information moves in and out of an assisted living home. Doctor's orders, records requests, pharmacy communications, insurance forms. Tendera now accepts inbound faxes directly from whichever fax provider your facility already uses (eFax, Documo, or any service that can forward received faxes as an email attachment). Each fax lands in your Fax Inbox as a row, and one operator can triage the whole day's traffic in a few minutes without leaving Tendera.
Where to find it: Fax Inbox and Fax endpoints both live in your user dropdown (top-right). The Dashboard also shows a Fax Inbox tile with the count of unassigned faxes waiting for triage.
🆕 Provider-agnostic setup
- Bring your own fax provider. Create an endpoint under Fax endpoints and Tendera gives you a routing address to paste into your fax provider's inbound- email forwarding setting. From that point on, every fax your line receives lands in Tendera automatically.
- Per-facility or organization-wide scoping. Route one fax line to a specific facility, or let it drop into an org-wide queue that any authorized admin can triage. Rotate the address any time; the old address stops working immediately.
- Address shown once, for security. Tendera never displays the routing address again after you copy it; only a hash is stored on our end. If you lose it, rotate to generate a new one and update your provider.
🆕 One-click row actions on every received fax
- Preview opens the fax as a PDF in a new tab, so you can read it before deciding what to do with it.
- Assign to resident attaches the fax to a resident on their chart. Reassign if it goes to the wrong person; discard with a required reason if it doesn't apply (junk, wrong facility, duplicate).
- File to chart saves the fax as a document on the resident's chart. Give it a free-text label (doctor's order, records request, insurance form, whatever's natural), pick a document date, add an optional expiration. The chart gets its own copy of the PDF so future edits or reassignments don't affect it.
- Send to Med Import pipes the fax's PDF directly into Tendera's existing medication-extraction review flow. Same review UI you'd get from a photo taken with the mobile Med Import capture; approve the extracted medications and they land on the resident's chart.
🔒 What Tendera does and doesn't do with your fax content
- Every routing decision uses only the opaque address Tendera gave you; sender headers, subject lines, and claimed phone numbers are never trusted for routing.
- Sensitive fields (subject line, discard reason) are encrypted at rest with the same Fernet key that protects other PHI on the platform.
- Fax contents never appear in application logs. Only structured, redacted event records.
- All actions (assign, reassign, discard, file, send to med import) are audited to your organization's audit log.

Compliance visibility polish + a deep-dive Arizona incident reporting guide
Compliance visibility polish + a deep-dive Arizona incident reporting guide
Compliance is the surface that gets checked most across the day. Today's ship makes it easier to read at a glance and easier to act on. The dashboard tile now shows what needs your attention this week (not just raw pass/fail counts). The compliance tables show human dates and buttons that match each row's actual state. The Compliance hub tells you per-domain how many items are expired. Compliance-reminder recipients finally have a visible entry point from Settings. And a new long-form resource article walks operators through Arizona's incident reporting rules end to end.
🆕 Compliance dashboard tile: "action this week," not raw state
- Ring reflects what needs a decision now. The colored ring on the dashboard's Compliance tile used to be driven by raw valid/expiring/expired totals. It now reflects the count that actually needs action inside the next seven days. Green when the week is clear, amber when something is coming due, red when something is past due.
- Border matches the ring. The tile's outline now takes its color from the same "action this week" signal as the ring. One color, one meaning, no confusion between two adjacent color cues.
- Ring and caption tell the same story. The caption under the ring is reconciled against the ring's severity so the two never say different things.
🆕 Compliance tables: human dates + contextual actions + file indicator
- Dates read like a person wrote them. "Sep 12, 2026" instead of "2026-09-12" across every compliance table (facility docs, employee certs, resident intake). Same underlying data, easier to skim.
- Action buttons match the row. A row that needs a renewal shows a Renew button. A row that needs its original upload shows Upload. A row already valid shows a quieter secondary action. Fewer clicks to find the right next step.
- File indicator on every row. A subtle icon tells you at a glance whether a document has an uploaded file attached to it or is a metadata-only entry. No more clicking through to find out.
🆕 Compliance hub: per-domain "expired" chip
- Each domain tile on the Compliance hub (Facility docs, Employee certifications, Resident items) now shows its own expired count as a chip. You see at a glance which area is actually behind, instead of a single portfolio-wide number that hides which corner needs attention first.
🆕 Settings: compliance reminder recipients now discoverable
- The compliance-reminder email recipient controls have existed at /preferences/notifications for a while, but nothing in Settings pointed to them, so most operators never knew the feature was there. There's now a Settings row that surfaces it directly. If you were wondering why no one on your team was getting the expiration emails, this is why.
📄 New resource: Arizona Assisted Living Incident Reporting Requirements
- Incident reporting is the most oversimplified area of Arizona assisted living compliance. The most common shorthand ("report anything to ADHS within 24 hours") is not what the rules actually say. Different events have different recipients and different deadlines.
- The new Arizona Assisted Living Incident Reporting Requirements guide (~30 min read) walks through every reporting pathway operators need to know: the three event-specific ADHS deadlines, APS reporting for suspected abuse/neglect/ exploitation, the five-working-day internal investigation, medication error notification, emergency-responder and hospital-transfer documentation, the AHCCCS layer, what an incident report should contain, and how long each type of record has to be retained.
- Structured as a decision tree per event, not one universal rule. Includes a full at-a-glance deadline table, a practical response workflow, an FAQ, and links to every primary Arizona statute and rule cited.

Compliance Calendar: every expiration in one place, and it works in Google, Outlook, and Apple Calendar too
Compliance Calendar: every expiration in one place, and it works in Google, Outlook, and Apple Calendar too
Compliance dates spread across four different facilities are easy to lose track of. The new Compliance Calendar puts every upcoming expiration in one calendar view, colored by facility, so an owner or manager can see at a glance what is coming due this month across the whole portfolio. And because the same events are available as a subscribable calendar feed, you can add them to whichever calendar app you already live in.
Where to find it: from the Compliance hub, click the 📅 Compliance Calendar chip in the top-right. Admin and super-admin only; the facility filter respects your existing Facility Access.
🆕 New
- One calendar, every facility. Month grid plus a rolling upcoming list. Facility documents (fire inspection, licenses, insurance), employee certifications (CPR, fingerprint clearance, TB, and the rest of the catalog), and resident intake documents all show up on the same view, color-coded per facility. Owners of multi-facility organizations can see the whole portfolio at once; facility admins see only what their access covers.
- Status pills that match Compliance. Every event carries the same Valid / Expiring Soon / Expired language the rest of the Compliance hub uses. Nothing to re-learn.
- Add to Google, Outlook, or Apple Calendar. One click to generate a subscribe URL you paste into any calendar app. Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar on Mac or iPhone, or anything else that supports iCal subscriptions. About 60 seconds end-to-end. Your calendar app keeps the events in sync automatically as documents expire or get renewed.
- Read-only in your calendar app. Editing an event in Google or Outlook does not flow back into Tendera. Renewals still happen in the Compliance hub. The subscribe URL is per-user and can be rotated or revoked from the same Subscribe panel.
🔒 Privacy note on the subscribed calendar
- The in-app Compliance Calendar includes resident intake documents (they only appear to people already logged into your Tendera tenant). The subscribable feed you add to Google or Outlook deliberately excludes resident-linked documents, so no resident name ever leaves your Tendera environment to a third-party calendar host.
- Facility documents and employee certifications are the only categories that flow to a subscribed calendar. If you need resident-item reminders, use the in-app calendar.

Paper Charting V1: paper stays the record, Tendera keeps the workflow around it honest
Paper Charting V1: paper stays the record, Tendera keeps the workflow around it honest
Facilities that document medication or ADL care on paper now have a first-class workflow in Tendera around that paper. Monthly per-resident MAR and ADL charts prepared from Tendera. A manager marks them printed. Reviews recorded with history. Deficiencies opened during review get assigned to staff and resolved with a note. Paper Documentation Health rolls it all up for the facility and for the owner Portfolio. Paper is a supported operating choice, not a fallback.
To enable per facility: Preferences → Charting method lets a facility admin set Medication Documentation and ADL Documentation independently to paper or digital. Effective-dated so historical rows stay truthful across mode changes.
🆕 New
- Paper Charting Center. One page per facility per month. Every eligible resident's MAR and ADL chart in one grid, per workflow, with the current state (generated, in use, reviewed) and a per-record Review link. Prepare all charts for the month with one click. Mark charts printed as a batch or one at a time. Under Paper Charting for facility administrators once the facility's Charting method for a workflow is set to Paper.
- Review with atomic deficiency creation. A mobile-first Review page per chart with a checklist and up to five deficiency slots in one transaction. Multiple reviews on the same chart are preserved historically; nothing is overwritten.
- Deficiency lifecycle. Standalone create (Review isn't the only way to open one), assign to a specific staff member with facility-access enforcement, resolve with a note. Concurrent assignment or resolution is safe (conditional writes prevent lost updates). Full history and attribution preserved.
- Paper Documentation Health. Facility- level view under Paper Charting → Documentation Health: prepared, reviewed, awaiting review, printed, open deficiencies, assigned vs unassigned, archived. Admin-only.
- Survey Readiness integration. Facilities with a paper workflow now show a paper-aware neutral card on Survey Readiness with a deep-link to Paper Documentation Health. Paper metrics never inflate or deflate the Survey Readiness score.
- Portfolio integration. Portfolio aggregates now include per-facility paper attention signals when a workflow is on paper. Counts only. No resident names, no descriptions, no notes leave the facility that owns them.
✳️ What Paper Charting is not
- Tendera records what a user marks reviewed and what deficiencies they open. Tendera does not itself inspect the physical chart. The signed paper chart in the binder is still the record of care.
- Print tracking means a user marked a chart printed. It is not printer telemetry.
- Paper Charting does not touch the eMAR or ADL grid. Those are the digital-mode surfaces and stay untouched for facilities on paper.

Upload from phone: scan a QR, shoot the document, done
Upload from phone: scan a QR, shoot the document, done
Anywhere you can attach a document on the desktop, there is now a 📱 Upload from phone button next to the file picker. Click it, a QR code appears, you scan it with your phone camera, and shoot the doc. Tendera picks up the file a couple seconds later and continues the workflow you were already in. No app to install, no login on the phone, no emailing anything to yourself.
🆕 New
- Mobile QR upload, everywhere. Six surfaces got the button in one pass: Compliance / Tracked Items (staff certifications, service plans, DNRs, physician orders, fire inspections), a resident’s Medication Import page, Incident attachments, Preadmission physician documents, Resident profile photos, and Medication pill photos. The desktop modal shows the QR plus a live status (Waiting for phone… Uploading… ✓ Upload complete) and refreshes the underlying row on its own when the phone finishes.
- Multi-photo documents become one PDF. For file surfaces (Tracked Items, Incident attachments, Preadmission), if you take multiple photos in one session, Tendera automatically combines them into a single PDF in the order you captured them before saving. Each source photo becomes one page. Perfect for a two- or three-page physician order or a stapled compliance packet.
- Save & upload from phone on create forms. When you are creating a brand-new tracked item or filing a new incident, there is a secondary 📱 Save & upload from phone button next to the normal save. Save the record and open the QR modal in one click, so you do not have to save, find the row, then open a second modal to attach the doc.
- “Upload from phone (QR)” article added to Help. A short walkthrough covering the six surfaces, the multi-photo combining behavior, the phone-side page, and the security posture. Under Help → Getting started.
✨ Improved
- QR sized for phone-camera reliability. The QR renders at 260 pixels on a white ground so even a middle-aged iPhone at arm’s length picks it up on the first sweep. Dark-mode desktops get the same white QR panel so contrast never drops.
🔒 Security posture
- The QR contains a cryptographically random one-time link that expires in 10 minutes and dies the moment an upload completes. It does not carry the resident’s name, the document name, or anything about your Tendera login.
- The phone page shows no resident name, item label, diagnosis, DOB, or medication information. If someone glances at your phone, they see only “Upload to Tendera” and the file picker.
- Possessing the link does not give the phone access to Tendera. It authorizes exactly one upload to exactly the document you were on, and the audit log entry ends with (Mobile QR) so you can tell the two upload paths apart later.

Shift Handoff v2, My Support Requests with reopen, plus dashboard and phone polish
Shift Handoff v2, My Support Requests with reopen, plus dashboard and phone polish
Handoff between shifts got its own first-class workflow instead of a 12-hour notes feed proxy. Caregivers who file a bug or question can now track it, add follow-up context, and reopen it themselves. Plus a batch of small fit-and-finish improvements for the phone and the dashboard.
🆕 New
- Shift Handoff v2. Replaces the old “last 12 hours of notes” feed with an explicit per-shift handoff record. Each shift opens one handoff; the outgoing caregiver adds items (facility-general or resident-specific, categorized as Care, Medication, Behavior, Family, Operational, or Other) and submits when ready. Tendera also surfaces suggestions during Prepare (held or refused medications, PRN follow-ups still pending, incidents from the current shift, out-of-range vitals, residents currently out of the home) and you accept or dismiss each one; dismissals stick to that handoff so they do not reappear on your next device. Submitting with zero items is a valid signal — a “clear handoff” — and is deliberately different from forgetting to submit. The Shift Hub now shows the incoming handoff at the top with four distinct states: submitted with items, submitted clear (green check), stale draft (amber warning — previous shift did not submit), or no record yet. History lives at Handoffs in the header, with a filterable list and per-handoff detail page that preserves items and review acknowledgements indefinitely. Every resident chart has a new Handoff Mentions tab that shows every handoff item that named that resident, newest first.
- My Support Requests. When a caregiver files a bug or question via the header Report-an-issue button, they can now track it at My requests in the user menu, see the admin’s resolution notes, and reopen a resolved ticket if the fix did not stick. The same reopen action is available to admins from the support queue.
✨ Improved
- Shift Hub promoted on the dashboard. The entry point to your Shift Hub is now a full-width card above At a Glance, not one tile among many. It is the first thing a caregiver sees on the daily home page.
- Paper Med mode: Manage medications link. When a facility is running medications on paper, each resident row now has a direct link to their medication list. Previously admins were routed through Med Pass (which is de-emphasized on paper) to reach the same page.
- Notes tab wording separated from shift-transfer copy. The per-resident Notes tab now says “Add a resident note” and points caregivers at Prepare Handoff for shift-transfer items. The ADL Pass note is now labeled “Optional note about this shift’s ADLs” rather than the older generic “shift note” label.
🔧 Fixed
- Dashboard no longer hugs the left edge on phones. A navigation wrap issue was causing the dashboard container to shift toward the left margin on narrow screens. Now centered again.

Shift Hub, per-facility Charting method, Report an issue, and the Complete Arizona Survey Readiness Guide
Shift Hub, per-facility Charting method, Report an issue, and the Complete Arizona Survey Readiness Guide
A busy day of shipping. A new caregiver home page focused on what needs attention this shift. Per-facility control over whether medication and ADL charting is done digitally or on paper. An in-app way for anyone to report a bug or ask a question without leaving the page. And the master operator resource we have been building toward: a primary-source-cited Arizona survey readiness guide, current through Supplement 26-1.
🆕 New
- Shift Hub. A new caregiver home page at the top of every workflow. Answers, in order: is my shift okay, what needs attention, what care remains, where do I go to do it. Header greets the caregiver by name and tags the current shift (1st before 6 pm local, 2nd from 6 pm). A compact Shift Status strip shows medication progress, ADL completion for the current shift, vitals due, and pending PRN follow-ups. A Needs Attention section holds exception rows only (held or refused medications, unavailable prep, out-of-range vitals, pending PRN follow-ups). Today's Care holds routine remaining work. A Tasks or Residents toggle projects the same items two ways. Every row deep-links back into Med Pass, ADL Pass, Vitals, or the resident chart. Not a clock-in or attendance surface. Not an overdue comparator.
- Per-facility Charting method. Admins can now flip each facility's medication and ADL charting between Digital and Paper independently, effective the first of any upcoming month. Paper-mode workflows surface each resident's monthly MAR or ADL chart for printing and do not track digital completion (so nothing lies about how much has been done). Digital-mode workflows work exactly as before. Mixed configurations (paper meds + digital ADL, or the reverse) render each half authoritatively. Every existing facility stays digital by default; the change is opt-in per workflow. Configure in Settings → Charting method.
- Report an issue. A new button in the header opens a short form on any page. Subject, description, category, severity: that is it. The form auto-attaches the page you were on, your browser, and your viewport so admins can triage without a follow-up email. Descriptions are encrypted at rest because real reports name residents. Admins land in a filterable queue at Support tickets in the user menu.
- The Complete Arizona Assisted Living Survey Readiness Guide & Checklist. 32 sections covering administration and management, personnel files, the two-hour records rule, resident admission, service plans, resident records, medication management, emergency transfers, disaster drills, falls and CPR, abuse/neglect/exploitation reporting, kitchen, environment, bedrooms/bathrooms, directed care, memory care, hospice and home health, resident rights, survey-day playbook, SOD/IDR/POC mechanics, and a 14-stop Ultimate Walkthrough. Every specific expectation is labeled REQUIRED, ADHS PROCESS, or BEST PRACTICE so operators always know whether a claim is grounded in statute, agency practice, or a Tendera recommendation. Read it at Arizona Assisted Living Survey Readiness Guide, or browse the full library at Operator Resources.

Med Pass Prep and ADL Pass rebuilt for the phone, plus a new Storage Requirements guide
Med Pass Prep and ADL Pass rebuilt for the phone, plus a new Storage Requirements guide
Two of the workflows caregivers touch most on their phones got rebuilt around what the phone is actually good at: one clear primary action per screen, exceptions tucked behind a secondary control, everything reachable with a thumb. Plus a new operator resource on medication storage.
🆕 New
- Arizona Assisted Living Medication Storage Requirements guide. Includes a pre-survey checklist framed as conditions to catch before an inspection, plus a clear distinction between medication stored by the facility under R9-10-817(F) and medication a resident keeps in their bedroom under R9-10-817(H), one of the more commonly misunderstood parts of the rule. Read it at Medication Storage Requirements, or browse the full library at Operator Resources.
✨ Improved
- Med Pass Prep is a full-screen mobile flow. Tap Prep on a resident's slot and every eligible med opens as its own card in a full-screen dialog, one card per med, stacked top to bottom. Each card leads with a dominant "Mark Prepped" button so the routine case (you pulled the med, verified it, dropped it in the cup) is one tap. Exceptions live behind a small secondary control per card that opens a bottom sheet with the two real-world reasons (Unavailable, Skip), each with its own explanation. A progress meter at the top counts resolved cards, and the signing footer (initials and optional PIN) reveals only when every card has a disposition, so the caregiver cannot accidentally sign a partial prep. Long med lists scroll inside the dialog on any phone.
- ADL Pass is now a shift-first workflow. The page opens on a compact resident queue on the left showing everyone assigned to the current shift, each row marked complete, partial, or not started with a single icon and a plain-language count of what's left. Tapping a resident opens their Quick Chart on the right, which only renders the fields relevant to the shift you're on (morning fields on 1st, evening fields on 2nd), so the caregiver isn't scrolling past irrelevant rows. Each field is one tap ("Mark done" for care items, a percentage picker for meals, a segmented control for water and BMs). The full-resident ADL chart is still available for corrections or catch-up charting. On the phone, the queue and workspace stack: pick a resident, chart, back to the queue, next resident, without ever leaving the page.

New operator resource: Arizona Assisted Living Manager Requirements
New operator resource: Arizona Assisted Living Manager Requirements
The fourth guide in the Arizona Operator Resources library is live. This one covers the certified-manager role: who has to be designated, what certification requires, what the manager is responsible for under R9-10-803, how to handle delegations and absences, the two-hour records-request rule, renewal cycles, and multi-facility oversight.
🆕 New
- Arizona Assisted Living Manager Requirements guide. A practical overview aimed at owners and operators. Includes a manager compliance checklist you can use to sanity-check the manager file at your own facility. Read it at Manager Requirements, or browse the full library at Operator Resources.

Med Pass Prep polish, and Medication Import for every organization
Med Pass Prep polish, and Medication Import for every organization
Two visible changes on Med Pass this week, plus a big rollout note on Medication Import.
✨ Improved
- Pill photos now show in the Prep dialog. The main Med Pass view has always shown each med's pill photo, but the Prep dialog you open when you're actually pulling pills into the cup did not. That was exactly the moment visual verification matters most. You'll now see the same thumbnail next to each row while you prep. Meds without a photo on file lay out cleanly without one.
- Skip in the Prep dialog now needs a reason. Skipping a med in Prep used to be a UI-only action that didn't record anything. It's now a first-class charted event: when you tap Skip, a short reason field appears (a handful of words is plenty), and the skipped med shows up on the Med Pass grid as a violet "Skipped" badge with the time, your initials, and the reason. Skipped rows are also re-openable from the resident card's Prep button, so if a resident comes back you can re-prep without hunting for the row.
- Medication Import handles long medication lists on its own. Uploading a pharmacy printout with more than a handful of pages used to occasionally require you to split the document in half by hand. Tendera now handles the split automatically behind the scenes. The upload screen just says "this may take a minute for longer lists" and gets on with it.
🆕 New
- Medication Import is now available to every Tendera organization. After a validation stretch with Crossroads and VeneziaPlace, we've removed the per-organization enablement. If your organization is on Tendera, the Import button on any resident's Medications page is live for you today. If you haven't tried it yet: upload a pharmacy printout, discharge summary, or medication list; Tendera transcribes each entry into a draft you review side-by-side with the source before anything writes to the resident's chart.

Medication Import is live: turn a pharmacy printout into a resident's medication list
Medication Import is live: turn a pharmacy printout into a resident's medication list
Admissions usually start with a stack of pharmacy printouts or discharge paperwork and a caregiver typing every medication in by hand. Medication Import replaces the typing part. Upload a photo or a PDF of the source document and Tendera transcribes each medication into a draft list. You review the draft side by side with the original before anything is saved to the resident's chart.
🆕 New
- Import medications from a photo or PDF. On any resident's Medications page you'll see a new Import button. Upload a pharmacy printout, discharge summary, or other medication list. Tendera transcribes each medication (name, dosage, instructions, PRN status, form, indication) into a draft list. The review page shows the source document beside the draft so you can compare every field against the original. Nothing writes to the chart until you explicitly approve each entry. If the AI wasn't sure about something, that entry is flagged for extra attention.
- Reason for use is captured automatically. When the source labels a medication with an indication ("Indication: for glaucoma", "for pain", "to reduce risk of stroke"), Tendera copies that text into the resident's Reason for use field so it shows up on the medication card without a second pass of data entry.
- Non-medication orders are routed correctly. Documents often mix real medications with supply or procedure orders like "change colostomy bag every other day" or "use pad as directed for care." Tendera recognises those and routes them to the existing Non-Medication Orders system on approval, so your medication list stays clean.
✨ Improved
- Available to all Crossroads and VeneziaPlace staff. The feature graduated from validation to general staff availability today. If you're a caregiver at either facility group, the Import button is now visible on every resident's Medications page.
- Guidance for long medication lists. The upload page now tells you upfront that documents with 25+ medications or more than 4 pages should be split into smaller uploads first. Extraction still works on very long documents but can take several minutes.

Arizona TB Requirements guide: the third Operator Resource is live
Arizona TB Requirements guide: the third Operator Resource is live
TB compliance is one of the areas where Arizona rules changed materially in 2022 and older training materials can quietly create confusion. The new guide walks through what the current framework actually requires: baseline screening, testing, prior positives, and the annual responsibilities that survive the end of routine annual testing for most healthcare personnel.
🆕 New
- Arizona Assisted Living TB Requirements. The three rules that matter (R9-10-113, R9-10-806(A)(8), R9-10-807), what baseline TB screening actually includes, IGRA vs. two-step TST, why routine annual testing is no longer the general rule but annual TB responsibilities still exist, the prior-positive and LTBI pathways, the seven-day resident deadline, the short-respite exception, and a practical audit checklist for personnel, residents, household members, and facility-level items. Read the guide →
✨ Improved
- /arizona now links to all three Operator Resources. The personnel-credentials row on the Arizona coverage page now links out to the TB requirements guide, matching the service-plan and medication rows.
🐛 Fixed
- Removing a medication no longer errors on residents with historical eMAR or PRN follow-up rows. A caregiver hit a server error tonight when trying to remove a medication whose historical chart entries carried a mismatched resident id. The child-row cleanup now scopes by medication id alone and also cleans up the PRN follow-up rows that were previously missed.
- Portfolio compliance counts no longer include items for deactivated residents. The portfolio rollup was inflating "needs attention" numbers with tracked items belonging to residents who had been deactivated. Counts now line up with what you see on the individual facility Compliance pages.

Arizona Operator Resources: a new library of practical regulatory guides
Arizona Operator Resources: a new library of practical regulatory guides
Tendera has always been about operating an assisted living home well, not just charting inside one. We're now publishing the same thinking as long-form regulatory guides for Arizona operators. First two articles are live at tendera.care/resources.
🆕 New
- Arizona Assisted Living Service Plan Requirements. A practical walkthrough of what R9-10-808 actually requires: the 14-day initial deadline, the 12 / 6 / 3 review cycle for supervisory, personal, and directed care, what a significant change triggers, who signs, the additional personal-care and directed-care requirements in R9-10-814 and R9-10-815, respite care's separate 3-working-day framework, and how service plans and daily documentation need to tell the same story. Read the guide →
- Arizona Assisted Living Medication Management Requirements. The three medication workflows explained (administration, assistance in self-administration, self-administration), the verbal-order 14-day rule, medication organizers, storage requirements, bedroom storage tied to the service plan, medication errors and reactions, and the documentation that connects it all under R9-10-817. Read the guide →
- Resources in the top nav. The new library is linked from the marketing site nav alongside Arizona and What's New, so operators (and their colleagues) can find these guides without going through the product tour first.
✨ Improved
- /arizona compliance page cross-links to the new guides. The service-plan and medication rows now link out to the full guides for operators who want the "how does Arizona actually word this" answer, not just the "here's how Tendera handles it" version.
- Tendera marketing site is faster and cleaner. Behind-the-scenes SEO and performance work landed: responsive image variants, LCP preload, tighter WebP compression, and a corrected ALB HTTP-to-HTTPS redirect. Homepage now scores 98 / 100 / 100 / 100 on Lighthouse (Performance / Accessibility / Best Practices / SEO), which translates to faster loads for real visitors on real networks. Nothing changed inside the app.
📝 Note
The Resources library is deliberately small and slow-growing. Every guide is written from Arizona owner-operator experience, verified against the current Arizona Administrative Code (9 A.A.C. 10, Supplement 26-1, March 2026), and reviewed on a named date shown at the top of each article. Personal Care and Directed Care are the next two guides on the list.

ADL Pass grid, Portfolio activity view, and Survey Readiness prep
ADL Pass grid, Portfolio activity view, and Survey Readiness prep
Two of the biggest daily-use pages got a real overhaul. ADL Pass now shows every resident on one page instead of a stack of forms, and Portfolio finally answers "what's happening across my homes right now?" at a glance.
🆕 New
- ADL Pass is now a compact grid. One row per resident, one column per ADL data point, all editable in place. Instead of scrolling through 10 per-resident forms to chart a shift, everything you need is on one page. Sticky first column so the resident name stays visible as you scan across, sticky header row so the field labels stay visible as you scroll down. A new progress bar at the top ("6 of 10 fully charted") gives you real-time momentum feedback. Memory Care residents carry a 🧠 MC badge so you spot them instantly. Notes and Memory Care behavior charting tuck into an expandable sub-row per resident so the main grid stays clean. Mobile view still stacks into per-resident cards for room-to-room charting.
- Portfolio: live activity across all your homes. A new "Recent activity" strip sits above the per-facility cards showing what's happening in the org right now: medication charts signed today, documents renewed this week, incidents reviewed this week, payments processed in the last 30 days. Each per-facility card also gains a 30-day charting-activity sparkline so you can see at a glance whether a home has been busy or quiet.
- Survey Readiness: "Prep for a walk-through" toolkit. A new panel below the category scorecards with quick jumps to the four surfaces a surveyor is most likely to ask for on inspection day (Compliance hub, Employee personnel files, Facility dashboard, Portfolio view). Turns the page from a passive readout into a real prep station.
✨ Improved
- Employee Compliance: at-a-glance summary tiles. Four hero tiles at the top of the page show total staff on file, how many are fully compliant, how many items are expiring soon, and how many are missing or expired. You no longer have to expand every personnel card to get the roster-level answer. The page description also got a rewrite to accurately reflect the current AZ ADHS personnel-file baseline (prior copy still mentioned documents that were removed from the required list a few weeks ago).
- Survey Readiness empty state feels affirming, not sparse. Categories with nothing to flag used to show a small grey "Nothing to flag" line that read as an empty placeholder. Now those categories show a green ✓ "All requirements met" pill that celebrates the win without overselling.
- Save bars on Med Pass and ADL Pass sit at the natural page bottom. Instead of floating over the last few rows as you scroll (which sometimes hid content behind the sticky bar), the Save panel now sits statically at the bottom of the page so nothing gets covered.

App-wide design refresh, new Vitals hub, and Med Pass polish
App-wide design refresh, new Vitals hub, and Med Pass polish
Big day. New color language across the whole app, a proper Vitals hub with multi-vital workflows, and a couple of Med Pass papercuts fixed.
🆕 New
- The Vitals page is now a proper hub. Record any subset of a resident's vitals (BP, pulse, temperature, weight, glucose, spO2) in ONE form and one save, instead of the old one-vital-at-a-time flow. Same for vital orders: a new order builder lets you check off which vitals to order for a resident, set frequencies per vital, and hit Create once. A "Use standard vitals set" preset checks BP + pulse + temperature at per-shift with one click.
- Recent vitals activity strip on the Vitals page. Even before you set up orders, you'll see the last 10 vital readings your staff has recorded across the facility. No more "this page looks broken" confusion when you have data but no orders yet.
- Compliance health ring on the dashboard. Small circular chart on the Compliance tile showing your overall compliance percent across resident charts, facility documents, and employee certs. Green at 90% or better, amber 70 to 89, red below 70.
- Facility pill in every page header. A small building-icon chip shows which facility you're currently scoped to, on every domain page (Residents, Vitals, Compliance, Incidents, Reports, Shift handoff, Calendar generators). Replaces the plain "at Crossroads 3" line.
✨ Improved
- Med Pass rows now show real state. Previously every med row looked green ("Given") from the moment the page loaded, even though nothing was saved until you typed initials. Now rows render neutral until you enter initials, then turn green as a real confirmed administration. Refused and Held still tint amber and red as before.
- Prep button is much more prominent on Med Pass. Solid blue call-to-action instead of a small tinted button. Med rows waiting for Prep now show a lock icon plus a "Prep first" hint in the initials field, so it's obvious what to click next.
- App-wide design refresh. Every card gets a colored top-stripe by domain (blue for people, amber for compliance and incidents, teal for vitals and care, indigo for meds, pink for birthdays, green for billing, slate for admin). Icon badges are now tinted colored squares. Cards have soft drop shadows. Big numbers are bolder and color-coded by status. Section headers have a small colored underline accent. Applied across Dashboard, Vitals, Portfolio, Billing, ADL Pass, Med Pass, Reports, Compliance, Incidents, Residents, Birthdays. The app finally looks like it was designed together.
- Dashboard greeting is warmer. Time-of-day sun/moon icon, your name in Tendera blue, and a "N items need attention today" summary line beneath so you know the day's shape before scrolling.
- Recent Activity feed on the dashboard uses colored category chips (VITALS, MEDS, INCIDENT, DRILL, and so on) instead of a wall of gray text. Scan-friendly.
- Birthdays page redesigned. Today / This week / This month summary strip at the top. Month cards color-coded pink for months with birthdays; empty months recede. Current month gets a subtle pink wash.
- Domain-colored page titles. Residents blue, Vitals teal, Compliance and Incidents amber, Birthdays pink. Each page matches its dashboard tile color.
- Compliance drill banner is smarter. It no longer nags "2 overdue" when you've uploaded a valid paper drill report. Both the per-facility Compliance page and the Compliance hub agree.
- Vitals due list is grouped by resident. One row per person shows all their due vitals as chips. Click Record and you jump to that resident's vitals page with the specific due vital fields highlighted and focused.
- Compliance sub-page back links now return to the Compliance hub instead of jumping to Home.
🐛 Fixed
- Fire Extinguisher Inspection removed from required compliance. The standard AZ Fire Inspection already covers extinguisher checks, so tracking it separately was redundant. Facilities that had a standalone Fire Extinguisher Inspection row keep it visible as a custom document; it just no longer counts against the required-item score.

We're now Tendera
We're now Tendera
🎉 Big change
-
The app you know as BedsideOS is now called Tendera.
Same product, same team, same features, same login.
The new URL is
<your-facility>.tendera.care(e.g.,crossroads.tendera.care,veneziaplace.tendera.care). Old bookmarks atbedsideos.comkeep working and auto-redirect for the next couple months, so nothing breaks if you don't update right away. One-time re-login on the new URL — same username, password, and signing PIN. That's it. Nothing about your Med Pass, ADL charting, MAR, resident records, billing, or any other workflow has changed. Just the name and the address bar. New logo, new color palette (teal + navy), same everything else you rely on daily.

Editable med time slots and published legal pages
Editable med time slots and published legal pages
✨ Improved
- Edit which shifts a scheduled med runs on, right from the med edit page. Previously, changing the time-slot set for an existing scheduled med meant either removing the med (which nuked eMAR history) or discontinuing and re-adding it (which split the med into two rows on the resident's med list). Now the edit page shows checkboxes for Morning / Noon / Evening / Night, check or uncheck to change the schedule, and save. eMAR history is preserved. Reported by an admin caregiver last week.
- Full legal footer on tendera.care. The marketing site now has a published Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Subprocessor list. The subprocessor list is the definitive record of every third-party vendor that touches customer data (AWS, Sentry, Plaid), with BAA status and location for each. No more "coming soon" placeholders in the footer.

Facility Compliance, employees roster, and the compliance hub
Facility Compliance, employees roster, and the compliance hub
🆕 New
- Portfolio view for multi-facility admins. New homepage tile (shows up when you have access to more than one facility) that opens a cross-facility rollup. Each home gets a card with resident count, Resident Compliance N/M, Facility Compliance N/M, and doc currency (expired + expiring counts). Aggregate tiles up top show how many homes are fully green, total residents, and total docs needing attention. Click any facility card to jump into its compliance detail. Numbers reuse the same calculations the per-facility pages use, so you'll never see a discrepancy between what the Portfolio shows and what the drill-down page shows.
- Facility Compliance page. Third leg of compliance, alongside Resident and Employee. Every home now gets a scored roll-up of required facility documents (Facility License, Fire Inspection, Health Inspection, Fire Extinguisher Inspection, Disaster and Evacuation Drills). See at a glance what's missing, expired, or expiring soon per home. Compliance → Facility Compliance.
- Employees roster. Payroll people who don't log into the app (cooks, housekeepers, maintenance, assisted living assistants) now have their own roster at Preferences → Organization → Employees. Add them once, then schedule them just like any caregiver. Optional hourly rate (stored encrypted). If they later need app access, link their account.
- Minimum caregivers per day setting. New field at Preferences → Facility contact info for each home. The schedule flags any day that dips below your coverage floor. Only caregivers and assisted living assistants count toward the number; cook, housekeeper, and maintenance shifts still appear on the schedule but don't satisfy the requirement.
- Vitals trend charts on every resident. Every vital type with two or more readings gets an inline line chart on the resident's vitals tab. Blood pressure renders as a dual line (systolic red, diastolic blue). Everything else is a single line. If there's an active order with min/max thresholds, those render as red dashed reference lines so patterns trending toward "out of range" are visible before they breach. Out-of-range readings render as filled red dots. Time-window picker: 7 days / 30 days / 90 days / all-time. Click any chart to open a full-screen version. A stack-layout toggle lines up all the charts on the same date axis so a BP spike visibly aligns with an HR spike above or below it.
- 30-day vital sparklines on the face sheet. Each current vital on the printable face sheet (BP 145/92, weight 172 lb, etc.) now sits next to a tiny 30-day trend line. EMS reading the handoff sheet sees not just the current number but the direction it's been moving.
- Printable vitals trends packet. New "Print packet" link on the vitals tab produces a landscape-letter document with all trend charts stacked full-width. Same header shape as the MAR and ADL prints (facility, primary physician, allergies, care-type badges). Meant for physician review folders or surveyor requests.
- Birthdays calendar. The Birthdays tile on your dashboard is now clickable and opens a full-year calendar for the facility. 12 month cards, current month outlined, today's birthdays highlighted amber, this week's a subtle blue, each entry shows the age the resident will be turning. Bottom of the page lists any residents without a DOB on file so you can add it in one click.
✨ Improved
- Greeting shows your real name. The dashboard now says "Good evening, Oscar Soto" instead of "Good evening, Oscarsoto" (or whatever your login username is). Uses the first and last name you set on your user profile; falls back to your username if we don't have a real name on file yet. You'll see it after your next sign-in.
- Portfolio now scores all three compliance domains per home. Employees added to the per-facility card and the aggregate hero row. "Fully green" now means resident charts complete, employee files complete, facility documents complete, AND no expired tracked documents — a stricter definition, but a real one.
- Portfolio cards open Survey Readiness, not just facility documents. Clicking a home on the Portfolio now lands on that facility's full state-survey readiness scorecard — the same seven categories the "Survey Readiness" dashboard tile opens.
- Facility Compliance drills now count paper reports too. We shipped Facility Compliance yesterday and it was only counting drills logged in the app — paper drill reports uploaded under "Disaster Drill - Employees" or "Disaster Drill - Residents" weren't credited. Both paths now count, matching the same paper-or-in-app promise that other compliance items already make. Best-current-record wins.
- Compliance page: overdue and upcoming tiles moved to the top. Current status first, navigation into the sub-domains second.
- Exempt residents no longer show up on Survey Readiness. Residents marked compliance-exempt (e.g. casita renters) were correctly excluded from the Resident Compliance page but were still surfacing gaps on Survey Readiness. Fixed across all resident-scoped categories.
- What's New page collapses older weeks. As the release history grows, only the newest week stays expanded; older weeks show a one-line summary you click to expand. Faster scanning, no lost content.
- Survey Readiness and Facility Compliance now agree. The Facility documents category on Survey Readiness reads from the same list of required documents that Facility Compliance uses, so a fix or addition to one flows through to the other. Also fixed a bug where drills logged with the in-app form didn't count toward the Survey Readiness score — Survey Readiness was only looking for PDF uploads. Native drills now count. The facility document list gained Quality Management Review and Fall Prevention Program; Health Inspection was removed since most operators don't track it separately from the fire inspection cycle.
- All compliance in one place. Redesigned the Compliance page as the single hub for compliance. Header now shows color-coded cards for Employee, Resident, and Facility Compliance; the existing document tabs sit below. Removed the duplicate Employee Compliance and Resident Compliance shortcuts from the homepage — one clean place for everything compliance.
- 📝 In-app form badge across compliance items. Items marked "📝 In-app form" have a digital form you can fill in the app instead of scanning and uploading paper — currently Disaster Drills and Service Plans. Both paths still count toward the requirement; nothing changes if you prefer paper. New "How this works" note on the Compliance hub explains the convention.
- Resident Compliance works on phones. The per-resident compliance table used to horizontal-scroll unusably on phones. It now switches to a stacked-card layout below 720px, with the score pill and missing-item chips laid out for one-hand use.
- Schedule pool includes non-app-user staff. Once you add cooks, housekeepers, or other non-caregiver roles via Employees, they appear in the schedule assignment dropdown alongside caregivers. The dropdown labels each role so you can tell them apart at a glance.
- Weekly-cadence billing now applies everywhere. Statements, dashboard totals, aging, and Reports charts all now use each payer's weekly amount times 4 as the expected monthly when a weekly cadence is set (matching the "4 checks a month" convention the dashboard payer breakdown already used). Before, a resident with a weekly payer whose stored monthly rate hadn't been manually kept in sync could show wrong billed or aged numbers.
- Monthly MAR chart got a full workup. The printable now opens with a facility, primary physician, and allergies header block (red pills for drug / food / other, with a neutral "None documented" fallback so a blank field doesn't get misread as NKDA). Each med shows its indication (why it was prescribed) under the dosage. Refused and held cells now display the three-letter reason code (SLP for sleeping, VIT for held per vitals, and so on) when a reason was captured, with a legend at the bottom naming each code that appears on this month's chart. Signature legend maps each initials on the chart to the staffer's full name. Prev / next arrows flank the month picker.
- Monthly ADL chart matches. Care-type badges (Memory Care, Bedbound) show next to the resident name when set. An allergies strip sits below the meta row with food allergies listed first since meal-tracking rows are the direct hit. The activities legend at the bottom went from one dense line to a code + description grid. Prev / next arrows on the month picker. Print still fits on one page.
- Compliance tile now includes all three domains. The dashboard Compliance tile's "N missing" count used to only include resident chart gaps. It now sums resident + facility + employee gaps, matching what Survey Readiness has been rolling up all along. Hover the number for the per-domain breakdown.
- Vitals order adherence pill on the orders table. For every active vital order (like "BP daily"), a pill shows whether the resident is actually getting readings on cadence: green "On cadence" with days-since-last, amber "Behind schedule" with days-since + grace window, or red "No readings" if the order has been placed but never followed. Pairs with the recent "readings taken but no order on file" nudge so both directions of the orders-vs-readings gap surface visibly.
- Vitals trend flags on chart cards. Small colored badges highlight patterns worth a second look: red "3+ out of range in last 7d," amber "systolic climbing 4x in a row," red "weight down or up N% in window." Conservative rules so they don't cry wolf on normal noise.
- Print charts fully readable from dark mode. The Monthly MAR, Monthly ADL, and Vitals trends prints were pulling dark-mode colors onto paper when triggered while viewing the app in dark theme (allergy pills washing out, chart cells filling with near-black backgrounds, titles fading to gray). Every printable now forces a light-background paper render regardless of the screen theme you're using.
- Hospice-performed ADLs auto-stamp "H" on the chart. For residents where hospice handles certain activities of daily living (a shower, peri care, oral care, etc.), you can now check those activities on the resident's edit page under a new "Hospice-performed ADLs" section. Those cells then auto-fill on the ADL Pass and the resident's daily ADL tab with a small amber "H" chip, read-only, so caregivers don't need to remember who's doing what and the "not charted" counter doesn't spike on care that hospice provided. Parallel to the existing "self" flag for activities the resident does independently. If a resident is flagged for both self and H on the same activity, H wins (someone else is doing it).
- Audit log traceability improvements. Description search now runs across every matching entry in your date range instead of only the rows the browser has loaded, so looking for who added a doc last month works without loading thousands of rows first. Action pills correctly color every entry now (before, common actions like "Resident Added" or "Billing Profile Updated" rendered as neutral gray because the old classifier only matched verbs at the start of the string). A new amber warn pill highlights override entries so they're spottable without reading descriptions. Doc-creation entries show the facility name instead of a raw ID. Every employee document add is now audited (before, only override cases logged).

Vitals auto-fill, four assessments, disaster drill logging, and more
Vitals auto-fill, four assessments, disaster drill logging, and more
🆕 New
- Drug allergy safety check when adding medications. The med-add form now cross-references the medication name against the resident's documented drug allergies. If it looks like a match (e.g. adding "Penicillin VK 500 mg" for a resident with "penicillin" on their allergy list), you see a red warning banner with the allergies list and the matched term before you can save. You can still override when the prescriber has cleared it; every override lands in the audit log so the trail is inspectable. First pass is a plain name-match; drug-class matching (penicillin to amoxicillin) is a planned follow-up.
- Grocery lists flag resident food allergies inline. When you add "peanut oil" to a grocery list and any at-home resident has a peanut allergy on file, that line item shows a red warning pill with the affected residents' names. Non-blocking; some residents can safely skip an ingredient a coworker cannot, but no more blind purchases of documented allergens.
- One "Attention needed" list on the dashboard. Docs expiring, reassessments due, service plan reviews, drill cadence, and care-plan-review flags from incidents all roll into one prioritized list on the dashboard, overdue first. Each row deep-links to the exact page to fix it. No more checking five separate surfaces to confirm nothing is slipping.
- Face sheet now includes current risk scores, recent falls, and non-medication orders. The printable EMS face sheet gained three new fields under Medical History: the latest score plus risk band for each assessment (Morse Fall, PHQ-9, Braden, Mini-Cog); a 30-day recent-falls summary (count plus most recent date); and non-medication care orders like "reposition Q2h" or "ROM daily" that EMS asks for and used to require hunting through tabs.
- Disaster and evacuation drill logging. Log staff disaster drills and evacuation drills right in the app instead of on a paper form. Auto-populates the resident evacuation list from each resident's profile, captures exemptions with a PCP order date reference, and produces a printable surveyor record that mirrors the standard AZ form. Cadence tracker on the drill page shows per-shift disaster status plus evacuation status with green/amber/red pills.
- Chart completeness dashboard. Facility-wide roll-up of every resident's chart at Compliance → Chart completeness. See at a glance who's missing which items, click a resident to fix. Filter to "Gaps only" for a shorter actionable list. Auto-derived items count uploaded documents as satisfying the requirement.
- Resident evacuation profile. New "Evacuation profile" field on the resident edit page (Walker / Wheelchair / Ambulatory / Cues / Direction / Physical Assist / Bed / Other) that feeds the drill log form and the printed surveyor record.
- Per-facility shift schedule. Set your shift count (1, 2, or 3) plus start times on Preferences → Facility contact info. Powers per-shift drill cadence and future shift-aware features.
- Vitals auto-fill on Med Pass. Record a resident's BP or heart rate on the Vitals tab and it auto-fills into any medication row with hold rules (like valsartan or metoprolol). If the reading crosses the ordered hold threshold, you'll see a "HOLD suggested" warning right there. BP typed into Med Pass automatically saves back to the Vitals log — no more entering the same reading twice.
- Structured clinical assessments. Four public-domain screening tools built into every resident chart: Morse Fall Scale (fall risk), PHQ-9 (depression), Braden Scale (pressure ulcer risk), and Mini-Cog (cognitive baseline). Each scores automatically and tracks the next reassessment date.
- Memory Care behavior tracking. Residents flagged as Memory Care get a per-shift behaviors block on the ADL Pass — mood dropdown plus observed events (wandering, refusals, agitation). Meets AZ Directed Care documentation requirements out of the box.
- Bedbound + Memory Care resident flags. Two new checkboxes at intake (also editable later) that automatically require the recurring "Determination and Authorization For Continued Residency" physician form on the Compliance page.
- ADL trends page. Recent 7-day vs prior 7-day averages on meal intake, water offered, and BMs, with automatic flags on deviations greater than 20%. Spot decline early.
- ADL completeness scoring. Per-resident "X of Y core fields charted" indicator on the ADL Pass so nothing gets missed during a shift.
- Pill photo library. Upload a pill photo once and every resident on the same medication + dosage sees it. Optional per-resident override for cases where a specific fill looks different.
- Install Tendera to your device. New chip in the top nav on Chrome/Edge that installs Tendera as a home-screen app — fullscreen, no browser chrome, feels native.
- Public changelog — this page. See what shipped, when.
🔧 Improved
- Document picker on the Compliance page. Adding a tracked document now shows every existing document type as a clickable chip above the input, sorted by most-used first. Hover any chip to see how many times it's been used. Kills the pattern where staff kept creating slightly-different custom versions of docs that already existed because the old picker hid the templates behind a small dropdown arrow.
- Assessment risk escalation nudges a service plan review. When a resident's Morse Fall, PHQ-9, Braden, or Mini-Cog score jumps into a higher risk band, saving the assessment now sends admins to the Service plan tab with a pre-filled draft form (trigger type: significant change; notes: the risk transition). One click to start the review that R9-10-808 wants documented.
- Level-of-care change lands you on the service plan draft. Changing a resident's level of care already auto-drafts a new-level service plan version. Now the resident-edit save takes you straight to the Service plan tab where the draft is waiting, instead of dropping you back on the resident detail and expecting you to remember to click into the plan.
- Care-plan-review incidents link straight to a plan draft. When an incident is flagged for care-plan review (either auto-flagged from the repeat-pattern detector or admin-flagged), the incident detail page now shows a "Start plan review draft" button that pre-fills a service plan draft referencing the incident. Closes the loop the dashboard opens.
- Deactivating a resident supersedes their active service plan. Regulatory: an active plan describes CURRENT service, so a deactivated resident cannot carry one. Plan history is preserved. Medications, vital orders, and assessment cadences are intentionally left in place so a reactivation (hospital return, temporary transfer) resumes the regimen cleanly.
- Two-factor and change-password screens no longer show the main app navigation. Signing in with 2FA or a temp password used to render the whole top nav (Quick jump, Help, username dropdown) even though you were mid-auth. The nav now waits until you've cleared every login gate.
- Add-document form no longer feels stuck. File uploads take a few seconds; the submit button now shows an "Adding…" spinner and locks after the first click so you don't hit it three times.
- Marketing site now respects your dark-mode preference. Signed-in users who picked dark inside the app get the same palette on www.tendera.care (landing) and /whats-new instead of a glaring white flash. Visitors without an in-app choice get whatever their OS is set to.
- Adding a duplicate medication is now caught before you save. If a resident already has a same-type active order for the same medication (say, you double-clicked Save or a coworker already added it), the form now surfaces the existing order with dose + instructions and asks you to confirm before creating a second one. Legitimate split regimens (morning Scheduled 50 mg + bedtime Scheduled 25 mg of the same drug) still work. Just click "Save this second order" to confirm the intent.
- Document upload cap raised to 25 MB. Multi-page scanned agreements and other larger PDFs upload without the "file too large" error. Applies to compliance documents, incident attachments, and pre-admission uploads.
- Compliance page surfaces drill status. When any disaster or evacuation drill is overdue or due soon on the current facility, you'll see a nudge banner above the hero stats with a jump-off to the drill list.
- Audit Logs filter panel is collapsible. The filter card defaults closed so more entries are visible above the fold; automatically opens with a "Filters on" pill when any filter is set so you always know what's limiting the view.
- Sessions survive rolling deploys. No more random "please sign in again" prompts mid-shift.
- Caregivers can create and modify vital-signs orders without waiting on an admin to enter routine care instructions.
- Friendly session-expired message. Login errors from expired sessions now show a plain-language retry prompt instead of a raw browser error page.
- Cross-organization user creation for platform administrators — target any tenant from a single form.
🐛 Fixed
- Dashboard and Compliance now strictly honor per-user facility access. Both pages previously aggregated attention items and hero-tile counts across the whole organization, meaning a caregiver with access restricted to specific facilities could see resident names and risk data from other facilities in the same org. Now scoped to the currently-selected facility. A cross-facility roll-up view for multi-facility admins is planned as a separate follow-up.
- Bank inbox: splitting a Plaid deposit no longer duplicates existing manual payments. If you enter a check manually and Plaid later detects the matching bank deposit, splitting the deposit to the same months now attaches the bank reference to your existing rows instead of creating fresh ones. Prior behavior double-counted the money on the resident's ledger. Legitimate multi-payment months (a manual entry already reconciled with a prior bank deposit, then new distinct deposits arrive) are unaffected.
- When a resident has both a scheduled AND a PRN entry for the same medication (like Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen), editing, discontinuing, or removing one no longer affects the other. They're now treated as fully independent rows across the whole edit / discontinue / delete flow.
- Medications with slashes in the name (like CARBIDOPA/LEVODOPA) can now be edited without a 404 error.
- Audit logs now record the real user IP address instead of the internal load-balancer IP.
- Login page respects your dark/light theme preference before you sign in.
- Pill photo uploads with the "apply to all residents" option correctly show the current photo on the medication edit page after saving.
